One of the nicest ways of decorating your walls is with wallpaper, but wallpaper isn't cheap so if you can find wallpaper discounts, it's worth checking if they have any that you like before looking at the more expensive rolls.  Wallpaper comes in many different patterns, colors, themes and textures, and it usually has co-coordinating borders which have similar a similar color scheme but help to break up the monotony of having all the walls looking alike.

Often it's the patterned, textured paper that's really expensive, or a wallpaper that is in a popular theme - such as a popular TV character on wallpaper intended for children's bedrooms - and one way of reducing the cost of this is to gauge how much it would take to wallpaper half of the wall, then purchase some plain paper from the wallpaper discounts areas (this can be painted to coordinate with the top paper if necessary) and buy a border to bring both of the papers together in the middle whilst at the same time disguising the join line.  The added advantage here is that you are only ever handling half strips of paper which are much lighter and easier to hang than full-length ones! 

Another way of reducing your costs which might eliminate your need for wallpaper discounts completely is not to wallpaper every wall.  Take a look in some home design books for inspiration.  It's not necessary to wallpaper every wall, and in fact, some rooms will look overpowered if you do so.  The books will advise you on the best walls to paper for your shape of room.  Now, if one of the walls that you need to wallpaper happens to have large windows in it, or a door - well there's another saving on your home decorating budget!

Home decoration can be expensive but with a clever use of wallpaper discounts and some creative thinking, you'll be able to have a lovely room that looks as if it cost you twice as much as it actually did!
