If you haven't been converted to this new trend of wood (or looks like wood) flooring on the floors in your home, then you probably still have carpets down.  If you have carpets, then you'll know how much hard work they can be to keep clean, and even though you vacuum them every day to keep the dust and fluff off them, they still don't look as fresh as they used to.  If you have small children and pets, then they'll probably be looking the worse for wear between little feet constantly running over them and the odd accident here and there.  A carpet cleaning machine can make a world of difference to your tired looking carpets, one clean and they'll be perked up to look like new - and with nowhere near the amount of elbow grease it takes without one of these wonderful inventions.

There are various kinds of carpet cleaning machines that you can buy, and the one that's best for you depends on how big the rooms are in your home, and the kind of carpets that you need to clean.  If you don't have shag pile carpets, then you won't need one that that's designed to clean deep down into the pile.  On the other hand if your rooms are large, you will want one that's more power controlled, whereas a hand controlled carpet cleaning machine will probably suffice for a home with smaller rooms. 

If you set aside one day every couple of months and after vacuuming, take the carpet cleaning machine over the top of your carpets, you'll ensure that your carpets always look as good as new - the pile will stand up without any ground in grime keeping them flat, and they'll smell fresh. 

An added advantage of having a carpet cleaning machine is that often these have attachments which will allow you to be able to clean your soft furnishings such as mattresses and sofas - keeping your whole house looking and smelling fresh as new.
